Overview Ahead of Release

It’s launch week! On Wednesday, the first US human space flight in nearly a decade is scheduled for lift off. But of course, I’m referring to the launch of Heart Analyzer V8.

After 7 months of core development I’m so excited to be able to finally share this new version of the app. For those of you familiar with Heart Analyzer, last August we had a fantastic release of version 7 of the app. This bought new features such as Heart Reports, the Heart Home, a brand new Apple Watch app and a lot more. But this time, I really wanted to do something special.

Thankfully, Apple were able to lend me a helping hand. This came in the form of the fantastic new framework SwiftUI. Hopefully it's clear simply looking at a comparison of the dashboard from last release to now. I have been able to introduce a modern, refined and intuitive look & feel to the app. Heart Analyzer now supports fantastic features like dark mode, home screen icon modification, purchases right on your wrist, advanced complication charts and the list goes on…

I can say without a doubt that I wouldn't be able to produce an update looking anything like this without the support of this new framework. I really hope this will be just one of many apps and updates I can release in the future that take advantage of the amazing capabilities SwiftUI offers. It was a challenging decision to now only support iOS 13 and watchOS 6, but I hope that once our users see the amazing difference in design and usability of the app, they will be pleased with the route I chose.

Obviously, iOS 14 and watchOS 7 are around the corner. I really look forward to seeing what new capabilities they offer. It will of course be a priority to build these features into Heart Analyzer whilst maintaining support for for iOS 13 and WatchOS 6.

Thank you to all those who participated in the Beta program of the app. Your feedback was invaluable and really helped drive forward the app to what it is now.

I hope you all enjoy this new release of Heart Analyzer. I can’t wait to get your feedback.
